I visited and photographed Caerlaverock, Closeburn and the Closeburn Churchyard. Are you aware that there is a handsome plaque and a mural in central Dumfries, both commemorating the Greyfriars incident and Sir Roger Kirkpatrick's role? The camera work alone was stunning. However, they never mentioned the Kirkpatrick name at all. They just said that it was one of Bruce's men that went back in to finish the job off.
